PROBLEM

Redesign and modernize the user experience from a Flex application into HTML 5.

SOLUTION

Designed a simplified user experience with contextual dashboards with summarized reports and drilldowns. Modernized the look and feel of the application with a new elegant visual language following the principles of Material design.

DESIGN GOAL

Simplify and remove clutter and flat design was the goal. And create delightful products to allow our users to accomplish their goals efficiently.

FLEX BASED APPLICATION

Before

PROCESS

We started with a list of features, to achieve 100% feature parity with the Classic flex product. All key use cased were measured by click counts so we could deliver an efficiency improvement metric for the newly delivered user experience.

WORKFLOW DESIGNER

Workflows are the heart of the Cisco UCS Director; they enable the user to automate processes of any level of complexity on their physical and virtual infrastructure. Users can build workflows using the Workflow Designer, a drag-and-drop interface. In the Workflow Designer, arrange tasks in sequence and define inputs and outputs to those tasks. Outputs from earlier tasks are available to use as inputs to any subsequent task. A workflow is a series of tasks arranged to automate a complex operation. The simplest possible workflow contains a single task, but workflows can be quite complex and contain any number of tasks. Looping and conditional branching can be implemented using special flow-of-control tasks.
